Complete renovation of a historic property in downtown Wayne in the heart of the Philadelphia Main Line suburbs. The home was destroyed by a frozen water pipe on the third floor which left the house in ruins. Entire home was gutted to studs. In doing so it exposed years on neglect and poor workmanship, not what the home warrants and deserves. We had several large steel beams installed to secure the integrity of the home. Once completed, this allowed for the design to take shape as a transitional open concept which is rare in the area and for the age of the home. Reclaimed hardwood flooring planking was installed throughout, crown moldings with high baseboards to match the original details of the home. New kitchen, cabinets, appliances, backsplash and countertops lend to a great open space for entertaining. Accent walls with reclaimed shiplap siding that was stained in some locations and others painted. Focus on the cool barn door with heavy duty iron track. The door was reclaimed and found in the wall leading to the old dining room that once had pocket doors. The opening was closed and the door left inside for years….secret gem brought back to life. Complete renovations to three new bathrooms with Carrera marble accents and clean open walls. Custom built in closet shelving with solid furniture grade plywood and solid nosing. This home was brought back to its glory with some of the existing molding being refinished with some of the original doors.
